LIFT FLIP BACKFACE NORMALS UNFOLD

  Tailors     XSLICE

XSLICE slices lines, rays, xlines, 3D faces, polygon meshes, and polyface meshes with a plane.

Options of XSLICE are similar to those of the AutoCAD "slice" command for 3D solids.

After selecting objects to be sliced you define the position of the slicing plane by one of the following options:

Object  Selecting a 2D object will define the slicing plane

View  Slicing plane will be perpendicular to current view direction

Zaxis  Specifying two points will define a Z axis normal (perpendicular) to the slicing plane

XY  Slicing plane will be parallel to the XY plane of current UCS

YZ  Slicing plane will be parallel to the YZ plane of current UCS

ZX  Slicing plane will be parallel to the ZX plane of current UCS

3points Specifying three points not lying on the same straight line will define the position of the slicing plane

Default option is "3points". That means you may immediately specify the first of the three points.

After defining the slicing plane you choose the side you want to retain (or both sides).
If there are objects not intersected by the slicing plane but situated on the undesired side of the plane, then you can choose to erase these objects.

Objects with a non-zero thickness cannot be selected.
Objects on locked layers do not get sliced.

Concerning certain 3D faces and meshes some restrictions should be paid attention to.
